Musica Pacifica performs Telemann and his Dresden court colleagues, including Veracini, Pisendel, and CPE Bach. Commemorating the 250th anniversary of Telemann’s death with Telemann solo fantasias for each instrument, including a newly rediscovered fantasia for viola da gamba!

March 26, 2017 Santa Cruz Baroque Festival, Santa Cruz, CA. Musica Pacifica celebrates Early Music Month with rousing Baroque folk and dance music from Scotland, Ireland, and England. With room to enjoy this music by dancing in the aisles, listen to arrangements of traditional folk tunes, dance suites, and trio sonatas. Performed by Musica Pacifica and featuring an exciting range of music played on recorder, violin, viola da gamba, harpsichord, and percussion, this concert is not one to be missed.

(Formerly "Chiesa and Camera".) Grammy-nominated countertenor Ryland Angel joins Musica Pacifica in a stunning program highlighting the connections between the sacred and the secular during the Italian Middle Baroque. The program features appealing sacred motets of Alessandro Scarlatti and Alessandro Stradella, as well as complementary instrumental works by these composers and their contemporaries.

Musica Pacifica performs at Dumbarton Oaks' holiday program, Frost and Fire: A Scottish Christmas Celebration, with guest artist Cape-Breton style fiddler extraordinaire, David Greenberg. Traditional Scottish Gaelic tunes seasoned with a dash of Cape Breton–style fiddling are interspersed with seasonal music by Henry Purcell, Arcangelo Corelli, James Oswald, and William McGibbon.

Sunday, October 11, 2015, 4:30 pm. Musica Pacifica performs at the California Jazz Conservatory. Musica Pacifica goes into the studio the day after this program to record a Paris Quartet by Telemann and a sonata by Giuseppe Sammartini. The group will perform these pieces, along with a concerto by Antonio Vivaldi. They also will discuss how the group approaches their work in the recording studio, emphasizing the differences in rehearsing for a live concert and a recording. 2087 Addison St, Berkeley, CA; doors open at 4pm.
